INTRAROSA Vaginal Tablet Developed in Canada

As previously mentioned, at the International Menopause Society meeting in June 2018, many therapies were presented that aren’t yet available in Canada. One such therapy was developed in Canada and is already being used in many countries worldwide. INTRAROSA is a vaginal tablet composed of DHEA. This naturally occurring hormone is made by the adrenal glands and it’s production declines with age. DHEA is converted to estradiol and testosterone within cells. When inserted vaginally, it enters cells that line the vagina. The hormones produced remain inside these cells and are not found in the bloodstream. These hormones will improve vaginal dryness, reduce painful intercourse and improve nerve sensitivity. We expect to see this product in Canada within the next year.
