At Brant Arts, we are more than a pharmacy. Women’s health isn’t just a service—it’s a commitment to creating a space where women feel heard, understood, and supported through every stage of life.
Behind that commitment is a team of experienced pharmacists who have dedicated their careers to helping women better understand their bodies, their options, and their health.
A Passion Rooted in Care and Experience
For Carolyn, who has been part of Brant Arts since 1989, pharmacy has always been about more than medications—it’s about people.
With decades of experience and advanced training in areas like arthritis care and immunization, she brings both clinical expertise and genuine compassion to every patient interaction. Outside of the pharmacy, she’s equally passionate—whether she’s singing in her church choir, teaching, speaking, or spending time with her family.
Kerry shares a similar passion, with over 25 years as a pharmacist and more than 20 years focused on menopause care. Since joining Brant Arts in 2012, she has been driven by one core goal: empowering women to understand what’s happening in their bodies so they can make confident, informed decisions.
Both Carolyn and Kerry are also actively involved in educating other healthcare providers, regularly sharing their expertise through speaking engagements and professional presentations.
Creating a Safe Space for Women
One of the most important things both Carolyn and Kerry emphasize is the need for a safe, supportive environment.
Many women come in feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or even dismissed elsewhere. Here, the goal is different.
It’s about:
- Listening without judgment
- Explaining what’s happening in a way that actually makes sense
- Helping women realize that what they’re experiencing is often normal—and manageable
- Supporting them as they make informed decisions about their health
As Carolyn puts it, sometimes the most powerful thing you can give a patient is hope.
She recalls a moment when a patient came in for an appointment and was given a personalized plan. The very next day, the patient returned to the pharmacy to pick up the recommended products—smiling, glowing, and with a noticeable bounce in her step.
Carolyn was surprised and asked how she could already be feeling so different, especially since she hadn’t started the plan yet.
Her answer was simple:
“I have hope.”
Education First—Always
A big part of the team’s role is education.
There’s a lot of conflicting information out there—especially when it comes to women’s health. One major example is the impact of the Women’s Health Initiative, released in the early 2000s, which led to widespread confusion and fear around hormone therapy.
Many women stopped treatment prematurely or avoided it altogether—not because it wasn’t right for them, but because the information wasn’t clearly communicated.
That’s where this team steps in.
They help women:
- Understand the full picture
- Separate fear from fact
- Explore all options—not just prescriptions
Because women’s health isn’t one-size-fits-all.
It’s Not Just About Hormones
While hormone therapy can be an important tool, it’s only one piece of the puzzle.
The team takes a holistic, individualized approach that may include:
- Lifestyle adjustments
- Supplements
- Over-the-counter support
- Prescription therapies when appropriate
Every plan is tailored to the individual—because no two women experience things the same way.
Empowering Women to Advocate for Themselves
One of the most rewarding parts of the job, according to Kerry, is seeing patients gain the confidence to make decisions about their own health.
Whether it’s starting a new therapy, asking better questions, or simply understanding their symptoms, that shift is powerful.
It’s not just about treatment—it’s about giving women the tools to advocate for themselves in every healthcare setting.
Looking Ahead: Innovation in Women’s Health
The field of women’s health is constantly evolving, and that’s something the team is genuinely excited about.
Both Carolyn and Kerry stay up to date on the latest developments by regularly attending the Menopause Society conference each year, ensuring they continue to bring the most current, evidence-based care to their patients.
From new therapies coming to market to better research and awareness, there’s real momentum—and it means more options and better outcomes for patients.
Life Outside the Pharmacy
While their work is deeply impactful, both Carolyn and Kerry also value balance and connection outside of the pharmacy.
You might find Carolyn biking local rail trails, traveling, or enjoying time with her family.
Kerry spends her time skiing, practicing ballet, crocheting, or even participating in artistic swimming—while also contributing to education within the healthcare community through speaking and presentations.
Here for You—Every Step of the Way
At its core, the women’s health program at Brant Arts is about guidance.
It’s about helping women navigate change, understand their bodies, and feel supported in their decisions.
Because no one should have to figure it out alone.
